BHCTC Club Championships 2025

Well done to everyone who entered. There have been some incredible matches played over the past few weeks and we hope that everyone has enjoyed taking part. We would like to also thank all of our volunteers who helped on the day – Francois for running the BBQ and making sure we were all well fed, Gilly and Simon for running the bar, our fabulous coaches for providing free coaching sessions and to everyone who sat on the umpires chair!

We would like to make a special mention to Juliet, Becca and Kirk for organising the tournament and finals day, ensuring that the day ran smoothly and that all matches were completed, even with a short rain delay!

The day was a great success and we are very pleased to announce that we raised £794!!

Once again, a big congratulations to all of our tournament winners!

Team updates

As the summer season 2025 nears to a close we would like to thank all of our team players and captains for their hard work this season. A special mention goes to the Mixed 2nd team who have just completed their first season in division 4!

Karl Broom is sadly stepping down as the Men’s 1st team captain after many years in the role and he will be handing over to Dan Mays. Thank you Karl for all of the time and hard work you have put into running the 1st team.

Big congratulations to our match secretary and team captain Gabby Tarasovaite who became mixed doubles and the Ladies singles champion at the LTA National Deaf finals for the 2nd year running!

We are all very proud of what Gabby has achieved and to have such a great role model at our club.

Gabby wins National Deaf Women's Singles

Congratulations to our very own Gabby Tarasovaite who became the 2024 National Deaf Women’s Singles Champion, she also came Runner Up in the Mixed Doubles.

Gabby’s achievement has earned her a place to train with the GB Team and will give her a chance to represent the country.

The tournament took place in the National Tennis Centre at Roehampton where players like Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu have all trained and competed in as juniors, and they continue use the facility in their professional careers.

Summer 2024 Recap at BHCTC

BHC Tennis Club had a fantastic summer, we ran a members Tournament & BBQ that produced some great and entertaining matches, the weather was brutal but absolutely lovely at the same time, it was 30oC plus but all the members braved it out,
got out their sun block creams/sprays and just got on with the matches. As always the food provided matched the high quality of tennis, thank you as always to Irene who is always their to feed the members. We also ran a 3 day Summer Camp, we had players from age 4yrs to 16yrs old, Raffe our youngest participant, not only nailed all the drills he also engaged really well in our video analysis section. All the kids worked hard in the sweltering heat but none of them complained, they just got on with it and gave it their best effort.
A big thank you to everyone who participated on both events and helped support the club.

A Rainy Success: Recap of Our Tennis Club's Open Day

Despite the challenging weather, our recent Open Day at the tennis club was a tremendous success, thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of our members and community. On 6th May 2024, we welcomed both members and non-members to our club, offering a day filled with tennis, delicious food, exciting activities, and a fantastic raffle.

The rainy weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits, as both new and familiar faces turned out to support the event. Despite the persistent rain, the courts were bustling with activity as players of all ages and skill levels took part in gruelling group coaching sessions.
